Common hollyhock

If you ask people about what flower they want to put in their garden they will mostly answer Canna, Cherry blossom, Lilly, rose etc. I will not debate about their opinion but to me common hollyhock is something in the corner that will give your garden a unique and elegant look. These flowers are generally native to southwest Asia and have different bread under the species. These flowers are generally used in embellishment of garden but the sad story is they are short lived. But if you are a beginner gardener, the common hollyhock is very easy to plant and nurse.

The hollyhocks are draught defiant and that makes it easy to nurse. But you need to be careful about the rust disease that it gets very often. You can use a lime spray to decrease the effect of the disease. Nevertheless these flowers won’t miss the eyes of an aesthetic gardener.
